Karl was born and raised here in Pence. He moved to the twin cities in 2005 to attend The Minneapolis College of Art and Design, graduating with a BFA in furniture design. After receiving an artist’s residency through the Parsons New School for a year of studio practice, he stayed in New York City to begin his career. Since those years in NYC working in design and fabrication, he moved back to MN and continued his work as a designer and creative director. Now, living back in Montreal, Karl is on a mission to help provide a place and support for others interested in working with their hands and sharing their thoughts.

Charlie has been in the area since the early seventies - working in the woods, grooming ski trails and coaching softball at Hurley K12 among many other pursuits. He is the originator here of the MAKE, DO attitude and is already laboring tirelessly at reviving our old building as a proper workshop and place for community. Charlie will be our groundskeeper here and a frequent teacher of the innumerable skills he has to share.
